Neuro Partners is a specialist provider of service to people and their families living with the consequences of brain injury or a neurological condition,

providing services such as dedicated bespoke rehabilitation support packages via our team in each region, including rehabilitation support workers, Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Psychologists, Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists and behavioural management specialists.

Jonathan Wade was one of three founding members of Neuro Partners from its conception in 2005, holding the position of Managing Director since the company became operational in January 2006. The other two founding members are Kelly Mowbray (Director of Operations) who specialises in Occupational and Educational support and rehabilitation of Neuro Partners’ Service Users, and Emily Dunn (Director of Corporate Services) who deals with all the business and administration functions of the multi site business.

Jonathan Wade started his career in the mid 1980’s as a Psychiatric Nurse and specialised in behavioural management and secure environments. Early in his career he was recruited into the Prison Service and eventually became a specialist Governor heading up behavioural management and healthcare provisions in new prisons, especially in the field of management of actively violent offenders and offenders at risk of harm to themselves. Jonathan then went on to work in partnership with and overseeing private prison providers on behalf of the Home Office in the establishment of new private prisons dealing mainly with under 21’s, especially those sentenced to ‘life’ for crimes of violence, sexual nature and arson.

In 2000 Jonathan left this line of work to become the North of England Director for a Brain Injury Charity dealing with vocational rehabilitation, but realised that the real need was in community support and rehabilitation. Jonathan, Kelly and Emily took the risk to start up Neuro Partners in January 2006.

In 2006 Jonathan was diagnosed as having a degenerative spinal cord condition, which has resulted on him becoming a wheelchair user, but this has meant he has a better understanding of what his service users need and go through, adding motivation to ensure those Neuro Partners’ serves have the best quality service available to meet their needs in the way they want their needs met.

Since this time the company has gone from strength to strength, establishing one new region each year, going from the original 3 employees to over 250 employees across the North East of England, with services from Berwick upon Tweed to Tees Valley, across Cumbria with a second administration base in Carlisle, and as of November 2008 across Yorkshire with the administration base in Sheffield. The company is about to open in Lancashire in partnership with the NHS and has further expansion plans for Greater Manchester & Liverpool and also in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire.

The success is down to hard work, keeping focussed and having a problem solving mentality, delivering individual teams to meet the bespoke needs of the service user, always delivering what you promise, always attaining gains for people no matter what it takes, recruiting the right personalities – people that want to make a difference, and always remembering quality of what you do is everything, as quality brings 10 more referrals.

Neuro Partners serves some 100 people and their families a day and is now also the specialist support provider for the North East Universities, although our core business is still supporting people in the community. Neuro Partners are predicted to double in size by the end of 2010, both in regions, staff and more importantly those we serve. We have never forgotten that at the heart of our business are people whom we are there to serve and assist to a more able future.
