We are a company who is dedicated to the support and rehabilitation of people living with the effects of brain injury and Neurological Conditions within the Education, Community and Employment sectors.
Within the Education division we work in partnership with both further and higher education institutions in the whole of the North, delivering specialist support to their students with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, mental health barriers and several other conditions.
All of our Support Workers are trained in this specialist field and have experience in working with service users in education establishments. All of the students that we work with have regular reviews to ensure that the service continues to meet their needs.
We work in partnership with Disability Support Services within education institutions or directly with the student and deliver support with regards to mentoring, study skills and Personal Support, this includes support in lectures, note taking, transcribing and many other types of support. This has ranged from 1 hour to 30 hours per week depending on individual needs.
The support very much follows the social model of disability and encourages independence therefore hours tend to be top heavy towards the beginning of term with the view to tailing off, however some cases will need consistent support throughout term time.
All the support we deliver is flexible and individually tailored to the students needs, we treat each individual on a case by case basis. Support Workers are overseen by a Psychology team and highlighted objectives are worked towards and support is reviewed regularly. |
